OFFICE OF SUPERINTENT

Circular Letter

Owosso – Jan. 13, 1960

620.6

ALL CONCERNED:

Considerable damage is occurring in carloads of batteries shipped by the Electric Auto-Lite Company, Owosso, to various auto manufacturers in Detroit and Kenosha.

Shipments to Kenosha plant of American Motors Corporation have had most instances of serious damage in recent weeks, and unless the damage is prevented the traffic will be lost to the railroads.

After several years of damage free handling of similar shipments, it is difficult to account for damage at this time, except that cars are being roughly handled.

Be on the lookout for these cars of batteries and see that they are handled carefully to prevent damage.
